“Being able to connect with the very core of ourselves, where nothing can take us off our centre, helps us ride the waves and dance with life.” Marlene

“Marlene has helped me evolve as an individual. I learnt to manage my fears and learnt a lot about myself and the world. Marlene is an amazing mentor and teacher.” Roopa, South Africa

Having suffered years of anxiety, living with draining and tiring situations, I’ve learnt to be courageous, finding how to tap into my inner strength, peace and resources at any moment in time.

20 Years ago, I had a life-threatening illness that took me on a new path of understanding that there is so much more to life than we ever imagined or been taught. By learning how to manage ourselves in new ways enables us to respond to situations maintaining our personal strength and flow.

During our time together we will:

  • Quieten the mind
  • Become aware of the messages our bodies and emotions give us
  • Learn to create our own space of grace

No previous experience or knowledge necessary.
Bring your open heart and mind and let’s explore nature’s voice together.

OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE – Charity tea for Hospice

Fine Art Photographer and inspirational speaker Marlene Neumann shared her insight and unique ability to inspire.

Her powerful talk ‘Outside your Comfort Zone’ challenged the ladies and left them feeling inspired and energized.
“It is an exhilarating experience. People are productive when they are inspired” said Marlene.

Over 200 ladies joined Neumann at the Abbottsford Christian Centre in East London. The charity tea raised funds
for St Bernard’s Hospice.

Marlene had the ladies up, moving and shaking. The message Marlene emphasised was that each one of us is here to make a difference. With her multimedia presentation and creative use of the space each person left with a fresh perspective.

I am powerful, I am creative, I am my own best friend the affirmations echoed as the ladies read their cards.
Marlene tailors her talks to the audience and the needs of the organisation or company.

“The Ladies Tea was amazing; we discussed Marlene’s talk for days after the event. Everyone left feeling inspired
and motivated to ‘get out of their comfort zone,” Ntando

Marlene is exhibiting at Vincent Park!

Marlene is exhibiting her photographs at Vincent Park Shopping Centre in East London this week. Times are from 8am to 5pm until the 21st of December. The exhibition features work from Marlene’s extensive dark room and black and white range. Marlene’s book, DVD series and workshop gift vouchers are also available. These make thoughtful gifts.

Marlene’s dark room range consists of over 120 images. Her collection spans over a period of 30 years.

Her black and white images range from seascapes to lions. Choosing from this collection would make the perfect addition to any space.

Sky meets Land showcases the compelling photographs and reflective journey of Master Fine Art Photographer Marlene Neumann. Marlene refers to her book as a metaphor for “mind meets heart”. Over 100 of her magnificent and moving images appear in her book. More than a coffee-table book, it is filled with insight into her profound life purpose. Experience a ‘mindful shift’ when paging through her visual journey and gain understanding into your own life path. She uses the camera as an extension of herself and in that moment it’s as if the viewer sees the world through her eyes. This book is an extraordinary journey, a celebration of life and nature and the significant lessons to be found in the breath taking natural world.

Marlene’s inspiring dvd series, Capturing What People Don’t Talk About, is based on Marlene’s realisation of what it is to be ‘truly human’ and what being authentic really means. The intention in making the series was to provide people seeking answers to their own life struggles with some idea of where, in themselves, to look. From a broader perspective, the objective was to help raise the vibration on the Earth, so that people can more easily become aware of how to live an enriching life.

In her weekend workshops, Marlene teaches students out of the box thinking while pushing their comfort zones through photography . An inspiring weekend workshop where students explore a new world using their cameras. Her weekend workshops cover camera basics and the deep meaning of fine art photography. Marlene shares her wealth of knowledge as a Master Fine Art Photographer and expertise drawing on her 30 years of teaching experience. These renowned weekend workshops take place at the Centre for Photography and Light in East London. The next workshop will be taking place from the 11th to the 13th of May 2018. Early bird tickets and gift vouchers with a saving of R300 are available until the end of December, after which tickets will return to the standard price.

With this amazing selection…make your way to the shopping Centre and browse for the perfect gift!

There were many activities and things to do at the Centre this weekend, which made it an event for the whole family. There was face painting, a tea garden, delicious iced tea and flavoured water; both galleries were open, a farm stall, and information on the buckaroo project. Even Buckaroo himself was there! There were also many raffles available to enter including:

Things to do in East London- Trip Advisor

Things to do in East London- Trip Advisor

The Marlene Neumann Centre for Photography and Light is now one of the Things to do in East London on Trip Advisor! This new addition to Marlene’s online presence comes just in time for Spring, the school holidays, and the Pam Goulding Gardens of East London in October.

The Marlene Neumann Centre for Photography and Light is possibly one of the most calming things to do in East London. The beautiful garden is set under the a giant wild fig tree. The garden is currently in full bloom and is under guardianship of Tigger the cat who keeps a watchful eye on the comings and goings around the centre.

The centre features two galleries displaying Marlene’s prolific career in photography. Her Dark Room gallery displays her images that have been developed in the dark room using ‘The Neumann Technique’ which she has developed and perfected in her 30 years of capturing photographs. The Light Room displays Marlene’s Black and White photography, which she is currently producing photographs for. Focusing on landscapes and nature, these images manage to draw people in and ground them in the present.

The centre is the site of many holisitic events on the East London calendar. Iyengar Yoga classes are held in the gallery every Monday and Thursday. The centre becomes a concert venue every once in a while for International acts such as Desert Rose. Marlene herself hosts a Creativity through Photography course twice a year, which welcomes students from across the country to learn how to capture photographs with meaning. The garden is opened up once a year for the Pam Goulding Gardens of East London event once a year.

For more information on any of the events at the centre, please contact Claire, the centre manager at 043 726 1877. The centre can be found at 8 Kent Road, Vincent.

Please remember to rate the centre! The higher ranking it receives, the more people can know about the gallery and the beautiful garden.
